The LANSDOWNEMoritz team originally came together under the umbrella of an international ship brokerage in 2019. After a couple of very successful years, despite starting up during a global pandemic, we realised that our advisory business had to operate completely separately and independently of our broker colleagues to avoid conflict of interest. And hence LANSDOWNEMoritz was born in 2021.

Our team have all worked together over a number of years in different organisations and came together to form an advisory business which is boutique, different, successful and perhaps most importantly fun. Our team are close friends as well as colleagues – we all have a common interest and passion for the energy sector. It may sound strange to some (but you will understand if you have worked with us), that at the risk of losing business, we only do business with people we like and who enjoy working with us. We all enjoy our jobs and we don’t want this to ever change. 

The culture of the LANSDOWNEMoritz business is also heavily influenced by our owner, Mr Paul Kettlety, who is driven by building new businesses and taking organisations into new geographies or areas of emerging growth. We are an organization and group of individuals who enjoy sharing in our client’s success. We are small, entrepreneurial and very agile.

The first part of the name of our organization comes from the Lansdowne Club in central London where the earliest conversations on our business start up came and where we have regularly hosted client meetings. Part of the “difference” of our brand is that we like to do business over lunch or in the Lansdowne Club rather than in the office. We don’t always need PowerPoint presentations! The second part of our name comes from St Moritz, in Switzerland, a favourite location of our owner and somewhere where some of our friends and clients have spent time with us. We are a social bunch and have participated in charity ski marathons where our clients and friends have come to join us.
